Inspired by Ireland. Built for Colorado.
Fire Within Sauna is a Colorado-built mobile sauna, created from a shared love of heat, cold, mountains, and community.
Inspired by their travels to Ireland where mobile saunas dot the coast, a carpenter and a nurse harnessed their flame to bring Fire Within Sauna to western Colorado.
We are driven by our vision of health, nature, and community; we invite you to join us.
Aspen benches & walls • Wood-fired stove • Soft indirect lighting • Venting designed for fresh air • A space to breathe, sweat, and reset.
Custom-built saunas for homes & businesses
Love the experience and want a sauna of your own? We also design and build custom, wood-fired saunas for private homes, rentals, and commercial spaces across Western Colorado.
What we can build
- Freestanding backyard saunas
- Small-footprint saunas for tight mountain lots
- Saunas for rental cabins & short-term stays
- Commercial or retreat-center sauna spaces
How it works
- We start with a conversation about your space, vision, and budget.
- Concept sketches and basic layout to match your site.
- Options for wood-fired or electric stoves.
- Builds are crafted with the same care and materials as our mobile unit.
Good to know before you sweat
How hot does the sauna get?
We typically run sessions between 80–95°C (175–200°F), with the option to adjust up or down based on the group. We’ll guide you through short rounds with cool-down breaks outside.
What should I bring?
A swimsuit, towel, water bottle, warm layers for outside between rounds, and sandals or easy-on shoes. If you like a special hat or robe for sauna, bring that too.
Sitting on a towel is mandatory for all guests; please bring a clean towel large enough to sit on. Our full sauna rules help everyone share the space.
Is it okay if I’ve never used a sauna before?
Absolutely. We give a simple safety briefing, talk through how to pace yourself, and keep an eye on heat and time. You’re always in control of how long you stay in.
How do payments and waivers work?
For most public sessions, we’ll take bookings and payment online in advance. Private hires are invoiced after a quote is accepted. A short waiver is signed once per guest, usually digitally from a phone.
Why sauna? What are the benefits?
Sauna use has been shown to support relaxation, mitigate stress, and improve sleep quality. Exposure to sauna heat also fights inflammation, boosts immunity, and can alleviate pain. Rates of heart disease, and possibly dementia, decrease with sauna time. Finally, wood-fired steam humidifies your body, strengthening the respiratory system and enhancing skin health.
